We all know that the current lockdown guidelines are loosening and changing for many of us, but what’s on offer for those of us who can’t go out or don’t feel ready to do so yet?
We are so lucky in Suffolk to have one of the UK’s flagship libraries UK. Suffolk Libraries is part of Arts Council England’s National Portfolio Organisation (NPO), this means that they are leading the way in how libraries work and creativity is at the centre of this vision.
Their website has so many resources to enjoy, I’m sure you could spend hours looking through the resources and links they have on offer. From reading and writing, to listening and watching. They have links to theatres and museums and all accessible from the comfort and safety of your own home. They have a really interesting series of podcasts and Youtube videos made by local creatives.
Musuem From Home
Many of us will have visited Ipswich Musuem or Christchurch on a school trip. My first school trip included both and we had a picnic in the park too. If you are looking for things to do from home that include our local museums the team or Ipswich and Colchester Museums have devised a variety of activities to help educate and entertain. Inspired by the collections across Colchester and Ipswich, from art to nature, archaeology to social history, they hope to bring the museum to you!
You can follow them on social media for all the latest ideas, or find there growing library through the hashtag #MuseumFromHome
Makers Market From Home
We are back with our next instalment of Makers Market From Home this Sunday 5th July. Our virtual makers market will be bigger than ever with over 400 makers taking part from across the UK, Europe and World.
We have a series of LIVE chats happening throughout the day with creatives and makers. Shoppers and browsers can follow the hashtag #makersmarketfromhome and find lots of lovely makers to follow, share, like and buy from :)
