After chatting with a fellow creative and having recently been sorting through my childhood collection of toys and ephemera I decided to hunt out my Fine Art MA ‘Site and Archive Intervention’ dissertation book.
The book ‘Retrieval Cue’ (2012) by Andy Greenacre is a record and presentation of my MA explorations. Highlighting the theory, background reading and conceptional ideas that underpinned my practice at the time… and interestingly continue to be relevant to me today.
The introduction reads…
An exploration of the residue of memory through collaborations and collections. Opening up an individual’s anecdotes to the perspective of others. Creating a collection that enables the artist, collaborator and audience to record and engage with the delicate and changeable nature of memory.
‘Retrieval Cue’ is available to buy as a physical or eBook here
Now it’s time for me to sit down and read the book properly myself… plus all the interesting books in the bibliography.
