Void was held at Caroline Wiseman’s South Lookout Tower on Aldeburgh Beach over the Easter bank holiday weekend in 2014. This exhibition explored the ‘dead space’ around and within the products we purchase by casting concrete blocks using discarded product packaging.

The resulting sculptures created a landscape of waste from which a series of photographic representations were developed. Visitors were invited to take part in the exhibition by donating a used piece of packaging, which the artist used as a mould to create a concrete sculpture on Aldeburgh beach. The landscape grew over the course of the weekend and was turned into an animation by the artist.
