The Loft exhibition took place on the bank holiday weekend in May 2013 in the South Lookout Tower on Aldeburgh beach. This was the first of two exhibitions held in this inspiring coastal venue and explored the reasons we keep or discard our belongings. The room at the top of the tower was filled with childhood collections of retro toys, pin badges, Panini stickers, Kellogg’s freebies, phone-cards and much more. Visitors were welcomed into the loft space and asked the question ‘What’s in your loft?’. The accompanying exhibition featured fine pencil and ink drawings of childhood toys alongside a display of miniature thimble-sized artworks.
