If you were an 80s child you probably remember playing with some of these toys - leave me a comment below if you recognise any of the above! [...]

The Memory Van at AND Festival’s Mobile Republic
I had a fantastic day on Friday as artist in residence in one of the Mobile Republic caravans in Avenham Park. I spent the day chatting to visitors & collecting memory donations which became part of the installation within the caravan. I even had a visit from the Olympic Torchbearer, Rachael Whitehead, who donated her memory of [...]

Kneehole Land
My brother told me there was a whole world underneath my Dad's office desk. Only he could get through to the other side. He would tell me all about his adventures.
Ice cream tubs and hard work

Family picnic
I wonder if they see me now, I hope that they do, I will find out one day.
Around every corner
On odd occasions I would walk home on my own. I can remember my nervousness with every step and turn of the 15 minute walk.
Church youth trip
We went with the church youth group on a minibus, it was the first time that i had ever been bowling. We went through a heavily gaurded security point and then changed our pocket money into dollars. I was about eleven.
Millington
Every day after school we would walk through his grandparents garden and into the woods, we were very much at home and only returned home as the light began to fade. Watches were never needed.
Steam train wallpaper
We had to take a clipboard and packed lunch with us. Mine was a homemade one made from steam train wallpaper and a rusty old bulldog clip. In my lunch I always had carrots, sultanas and a piece of fruit. If I was lucky I would get a penguin bar or a pack of ready salted hula hoops. [...]
The smell of shavings
I just couldn't sleep. I crept down the stairs and pushed open the lounge door an inch. It was warm and inviting with the burbling drone of a television set and chatter from my grandparents. I walked in and told them that I couldn't sleep, my grandad asked with distain whether I wanted him to [...]
When did you find out?
I lay in my bed pretending to be asleep. The stocking was taken very quietly and returned a few minutes later, bulging with toys. I peeped out from under my covers, it was my Mum, I was only 4.
