#PortraitsForNHSHeroes

There are many different and exciting examples of creative folk using social media to work together and come up with a positive response to these very strange times. The #PortraitsForNHSHeroes initiative has popped up on social media recently, artist Tom Croft came up with the idea of fellow artists painting portraits of frontline NHS workers for FREE.

I chatted with Tom today and he said “It’s a great way for artists to have a focus and direction for their work” he went on to say “creating a portrait elevates our NHS frontline workers to the heroes that they are”.Tom personally matched over 500 artists and heroes at the start of this initiative. Locally artists Mark and Mchelle @clemfandangoed @mabowdenartist are currently working on 2 portraits for local NHS workers, and they told me of other artists @lisapuhlhofer @emmmalem who are also working on painting portraits.

If you are an NHS worker and would like to search for an artist offering to create a FREE portrait of you head over to social media and search for the #PortraitsForNHSHeroe If an artist is looking to be matched with someone they will have a green post, when they are matched they will upload a red post.
